I’m New to Emmanuel

Worship Service Information

Our worship services last one hour and stream live on our YouTube channel, Sundays at 9am. You are welcome to attend our services virtually, even if you’ve never attended in person before! Don’t worry and consider our worship service as our gift to you. And if you aren’t familiar with our worship style, we’re hoping our openness and inclusion will be contagious and bring you back again.

Offering

We believe that giving is a part of faith. As such, there will be a time for an offering in the service – but please feel completely able to let this pass if you are “visiting.”  Many give online, but you do not need to feel out of place just letting the offering time go by. If you have questions about how money is used at Emmanuel, you can click here.

Children & Teens

Most Sundays as a part of our worship service there is a children’s sermon for children pre-k through 5th grade. When our building isn’t closed due to social distancing, children are welcome to attend Sunday School (in the 9am service, Sept. through May) or childcare (both services, year round, up through 2nd grade). Of course children are always welcome to stay with their caregivers in worship. All volunteers and employees that work with our children are screened, trained, and supervised.

Teens are welcome to join in our excellent youth program that starts at 9am in the youth room each Sunday, year round.

Food, Fellowship, & Together @ Ten

When we aren’t in the midst of a pandemic, after the 9 am service and before the 10:45 am service, we have coffee and food available for those attending either service to promote gathering together in our meeting hall.  As part of our commitment to inclusion, we also have a dedicated allergen free table with food offerings so that everyone can find something to snack on during this time. Feel free to come early before the 10:45 service.  We call this time “Together at Ten” and it usually starts at 10:05, if we’re being honest. We also have our welcome team available in the fellowship hall during this time, they would love to answer your questions!

Communion on 1st Sundays

On the first Sunday every month we celebrate the sacrament of communion (also known as the Eucharist or the Lord’s Supper) together. We practice what is called an “open table” and invite all people to participate in communion with us by preparing their communion elements ahead of time at home. It doesn’t matter if you have never attended Emmanuel before, or any church for that matter, we hope you will celebrate with us. As part of our commitment to inclusion (when we are meeting in the building), we offer gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free bread with a designated cup at designated stations each time we serve communion.

Parking & Entry

For most people visiting Emmanuel for the first time, we recommend parking in the upper lot and entering through entrance #1 in the map above. If there isn’t a parking space there you can always park in the lower lot and come in through entrance #3. We have disability parking and access via two entrances. The best option for someone with disabilities is entrance #2 on the map above. There we have four spots reserved for people with disabilities. If those are full, we also have two spots on the other end of the building next to entrance #4.
