Palm Sunday

Walking Meditation with Rev. Stephanie, Sundays in Lent at 11 AM

March 28 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Sunday, repeating until March 28, 2021

It is solved by walking.  -St. Augustine Walking Meditation with Rev. Stephanie Dates: Sunday’s In Lent - February 21, 28 / March 7, 14, and 28 (We will not walk on March 21) Time: 11am Meet at Woodlawn Manor Parking Lot located at 16501 Norwood Road Join Rev. Stephanie for simple walking meditation during Lent.  We will practice Walk Meditation together as taught by Thich Nhat Hanh as we seek to deepen our relational walk with others, creation, and God throughout this season of Lent. Walking meditation is first and foremost a practice to bring body and mind together peacefully. Each step grounds us in the solidity of the earth. With each step we fully arrive in the present moment. We will walk an Underground Railroad trail from the Woodlawn Manor to Sandy Spring Friends Meeting House and back, a total walk of 3.9 miles. Masks must be worn the entire time.  All ages are welcome. We will enjoy both walking and talking, and walking in silence. Please email Rev. Stephanie at revvader@eumclaurel.org if you have any questions.   Walking Meditation Poem by Thich Nhat Hanh I take refuge in Mother Earth. Every breath, every step manifests our love. Every breath brings happiness. Every step brings happiness. I see the whole cosmos in the earth.
