Did you ever wonder what happens to your offering when you put it in the plate? We have a dedicated group of people that serve as counters after the services each week. Counters count and organize money and checks by fund type and make it possible for us all to receive giving statements. The commitment to be a counter involves serving for two weeks at a time, 3-4 times a year. You would be paired up with an experienced partner. Counting is done after the 9 am and 10:45 am services, so it is necessary to come by at least 10 am and stay until the end of the 10:45 service. Some of our counters go to the early service and others go to the later – it is possible to do either. In recent years, we have automated the process using Excel, so familiarity with this software is a plus (but not 100% necessary). Please contact Kathy Williams at email@example.com if you have questions or would like to volunteer.
Church Office Volunteers
We are currently looking for a few volunteers who could help out in the church office for a few hours preferably on Wednesdays to answer phones, enter some data, and help with photocopies. We have developed a short training and guide, so even if you don’t know how to work something, we can teach you. The office is open from 9 am – 3 pm, so if you can help for 2 or 3 hours once a month during those hours, it would be really appreciated. If you are available and willing to help, or know of anyone else who might be interested, please contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every Sunday, a volunteer unlocks the church building by 8:00 AM. Our group of Church Openers has dwindled over the years and we are looking for more volunteers. An Opener does the job for one month at time. In case of emergency, or if you have plans for a Sunday during your assigned month, your duty always can be covered by another Opener.
The job takes about 15 minutes and allows others to arrive to a welcoming place!
To volunteer, contact Mike Bell at email@example.com

Musicians / Singers / Choir / Praise Band Members / Handbells
Handbell Choir Rehearsals take place on Wednesday nights beginning early September through June, from 6:45-8:15 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Handbell ringing is great fun and is an easily acquired skill. The bells contribute a special magical quality to our worship services. The Handbell choir plays 6-8 times a year, September-June, and for special services. Adults and Children who are in 5th grade and older are welcome to join. If you’d like information about joining us, please email Chris Wilcox at email@example.com, or give him a call at 240-568-5143.
Our Choir participates in worship from September through June, with rehearsals on Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Sanctuary. We need you to come sing with us! Even if you don’t think you are ready, or good enough, or that you are too busy, we can find a way to make it work and you can help lift your voice in praise! Contact our Music Director Andy Spang at firstname.lastname@example.org or 410-596-2280 if you have any questions.
