Emmanuel Columbarium
What is a Columbarium? A columbarium is an assembly of niches designed to house urns containing a deceased person’s cremated remains. The word comes from the Latin word columba, meaning “dovecôte” (dove house), which named the structure of brick niches housing cremated remains in the Roman Empire.
The columbarium at Emmanuel is made of polished granite and has 32 niches. Each niche can hold two containers of cremated remains and can be engraved with the names and dates of the deceased.
Collumbarium niches are available for anyone to purchase. If you are interested in purchasing a niche in the columbarium contact Rosemary Robinson, Cemetery Coordinator at 301-490-5358 or tripoli125@aol.com
