Work Stress, Family Stress, or the Daily Grind Wearing You Down?
You are not alone! The Positive Parenting Support Group can help!
Parents face numerous challenges that come from just being parents. Coping with work stress, family stress, or just the daily grind can really wear on you. Add that to unexpected difficulties and you may be feeling at your wit’s end. That’s where the Positive Parenting Support Group comes in.
Our Support Group with be holding a Book Study this Fall:
How to Raise an Adult: Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success
Sunday evenings, from 6 – 7:30 pm. October 4, 11, 25 and November 1 in the Ministry Center.
In this book, the author discusses how overparenting or “helicopter parenting” interferes with children developing independence, competence, and confidence while causing parents to be stressed and unable to live their own lives. The book also gives suggestions for changes that can be made at different age levels from preschool to “twentysomethings” to help parents escape the overparenting trap.
If you are interested, have questions, or need child care, please contact Becky Eng at firstname.lastname@example.org
. For more info about the book and to hear interviews with the author, visit www.howtoraiseanadult.com
